The official launch of the River Valley Cycling Club is on January 24th! RVC was incorporated as a non-profit corporation last fall, with the goal of developing recreation and competitive cycling in the Fredericton area. Our goals are:

• to support cycling events, such as the Woolastook 5 and the Hadley Challenge;
• to organize maintenance of the existing mtb trail network;
• to develop a formal mtb trail system
• to develop a youth program

Check out our web page for more information.

Come out on the 24th to find out more, and contribute your ideas and enthusiasm to the club. This is an open meeting, to provide more information about the club and to get your input about what is needed in Fredericton area cycling of all kinds. Everyone with an interest in cycling is welcome – invite your friends.

Time: 7:30 pm
Place to be announced once we have a better idea about numbers.

See you there!

Happy 2011 All!

I hope you had a happy and wonderful holiday season.

1. Is anyone interested in heading out for a ski this afternoon? If yes, pop me an email (Leah.Levac@unb.ca) or give me a shout (476-6916). I could do the woodlot or Lindsay Valley...

2. I'm looking to buy a bike trainer. Does anyone have an extra one or know someone who's got one collecting dust? If so, can you let me know?

Hope to see you soon!
Leah

Stinky,

I was out for 1h40' this morning - covered every trail in the woodlot. The snow was near perfect - well packed {nod to Rex} and surprisingly fast for 07:45.

Congratulations to Stinky, OSB Rider of the Year. I can't think of anyone MORE deserving than you Stinky and it is great to see a woman's name on that placque (how do you spell that?)

Thanks to Turbo and Darlene for a great evening. Sure was nice to see everyone.

Thanks to OSB for a wonderful year in 2010. As you know, I like riding my bike, but, I LOVE riding with OSB. I am proud to be part of such a wonderful community of strong bikers. I look forward to many more incredible riding years together.

As well, Grill Dome (Rob) and I would like to thank Darlene and Turbo for a wonderful evening. Rob is already planning what he will be cooking for the social at our place next year.

Last, I will be heading to the woodlot to ski at 1:00. I will be starting at Kent parking lot. I have to work off the delicious food from last night.
